Hair Stylist & Salon Invoicing

Hair salons mix stylists, products, chair rental, tips. Invoicing gets complicated fast, especially with multiple stylists and products.

Service-based invoicing

Each stylist invoices for their services: cut, color, styling. Retail products (shampoo, conditioner) are separate line items. This way you can see what's actually profitable: services or products.

Sample invoice

Stylist invoice for a client: 1. Haircut and style Qty: 1 Rate: $65.00 2. Full color (single process) Qty: 1 Rate: $95.00 3. Color treatment and gloss Qty: 1 Rate: $45.00 4. Product — Kérastase shampoo (retail) Qty: 1 Rate: $28.00 Subtotal: $233.00 Tax (7%): $16.31 Total: $249.31 Payment terms: Due upon completion Tip line: ___

Chair rental and split invoicing

Independent stylists renting chairs invoice differently than salon employees. If you're paying a chair fee, that's a cost to invoice your clients for. Track it separately.
